This compromise carries on to the everyday relation with our clients, collaborators and suppliers. Privacy and security of the data entrusted to us is our priority.
It is our compromise to only gather, store, process, transmit or eliminate your personal data with clearness which is essential to render the best service. We will inform you how we use your personal data and to what ends, with the guarantee that we collect, share and keep this data, having as reference the best practices related to security and protection of personal data. 1. Who is responsible for the treatment of my personal data?
The entity responsible for the treatment of personal data is the firm ESCUDO IBÉRIA – REVESTIMENTOS E COMPONENTES TÉCNICOS UNIPESSOAL, LDA. The head office is in RUA AMILCAR ROLIM VERÃO, 2, 3140-442 SEIXO DE GATÕES, MONTEMOR-O-VELHO.
2. Which personal data can ESCUDO IBÉRIA collect?
In this Privacy Policy, the term ‘Personal Data’ refers to the sum of information related to you and which allows us to identify you directly or indirectly. Your personal data may include, for example, your name, your fiscal ID number, your contacts (electronic or otherwise), your transactions and your interactions with us.
We can also receive your personal data from other firms, namely when these firms collect, process or store it as a result of services rendered.
ESCUDO IBÉRIA may collect the following categories of personal data:
i. Client data – name, e-mail and telephone number – through the contact form;
3. How and why does ESCUDO IBÉRIA use my personal data?
We use your personal data for the following aims:
i. Contact form – to be able to provide customer services and contact you through the data
provided;
4. How long does ESCUDO IBÉRIA keep my personal data?
Your personal data will be kept only as long as you are an active client.
We keep your personal data for the time that is necessary to meet the objectives in point 3. and to abide by the law.
Once the maximum time for storage is reached your personal data will be destroyed or eliminated in a safe way.
The more relevant storage limits are the following:
i. Management of Fidelization Programme – we keep your personal data for 3 years after your last purchase in an ESCUDO IBÉRIA shop or online shop. If you have made no purchases, we keep your personal data 3 years after you join the Fidelization Programme;
ii. Marketing and Direct Marketing – if you are a member of the Fidelization Programme, we keep your personal data for 3 years after your last purchase or if no purchases have been made 3 years after joining the programme. If not, the period of retention is 2 years after the last response to our communications (e.g. opening of e-mail, clicking the SMS link, amongst others);
iii. Business Transactions – we keep your personal data for a period of 10 years;
iv. Home Deliveries – we keep your personal data for a period of 10 years;
v. Customer Service Contacts – we keep the recording of your calls and copies of your written contacts for a period of 6 months;
vi. Guarantees and After-Sales Services – we keep personal data for a period of 2 years;
vii. Services Management – we keep your personal data for a period of 1 year.
When the expiry date for the above points is close to expiration date, we will send you a notice with the option to maintain your personal data for an additional period. This will prevent its elimination.
If this is requested a new further maintenance period will be applied with the duration equal to the pre-defined period agreed for the determined causes.
For example, if you ask to keep your personal data regarding the Management of Fidelization Programme for a period superior to the maximum (3 years after the last purchase date or 3 years after your enrolment in the programme), this data will be kept for an additional period of 3 years after your last purchase date.
5. With whom can ESCUDO IBÉRIA share my personal data?
ESCUDO IBÉRIA can transmit your personal data to third parties such as firms providing services, the process of buying and invoicing transportation, storage, marketing, web hosting and bank agencies.
ESCUDO IBÉRIA uses competent service providers which deal with clients’ data solely according to the rules established by ESCUDO IBÉRIA. These rules follow legal norms regarding the protection of personal data, information security and other norms applicable to the above. Only the data necessary to render these services is given to these firms.
When demanded by law, we may be obliged to divulge your personal data to authorities or third parties, in which case our control regarding protection is limited.
6. Does ESCUDO IBÉRIA transfer your personal data outside the EU?
ESCUDO IBÉRIA may transfer your personal data to countries outside the EU in case of legitimate interest on the part of the holder but maintaining the same level of security regarding protection of your personal data.
7. How does ESCUDO IBÉRIA protect my personal data?
We use a variety of measures to safeguard information. These are in line with the best national and international practices so as to protect your personal data. These include technological controls, administrative, technical and physical measures and procedures which guarantee the protection of your personal data. These prevent unsuitable use, access and non-authorized disclosure, its loss, improper or unintentional changes or destruction. As far as information security, we assume the same compromise of continuous improvement which we follow in our daily activity.
Amongst others, we highlight the following measures:
i. Restricted access to your personal data only by those who need them for the objectives we
proposed ourselves above;
ii. Storage and transfer of personal data only in a safe way;
iii. Protection of information systems through devices which prevent the non-authorized access to your personal data;
iv. Implementation of mechanisms which guarantee the safeguard of the integrity and quality of your personal data;
v. Permanent monitoring of information systems with the objective of preventing, detecting and stopping the misuse of your personal data;

vi. Not to be subject to individual or automated decisions;
vii. Denial to the treatment of your personal data;
viii. Limitation to our use of your personal data while we correct or explain eventual doubts
regarding its contents and use;
ix. Channel available so that decisions based on your personal data may be challenged.
At any moment you also have the right to change or delete permission to use your personal data, given previously.
The use of these rights is exceptional when your personal data is used to protect public interest, namely in cases of detection and prevention of crimes.
